CCD MISSION STATEMENT
We, the CCD Program (Confraternity of Christian Doctrine) of St. John of God Parish, strive as teachers in fidelity to the Catholic faith to instill in the students in our care (Kindergarten through Eighth Grade) a love for God, others and self through catechetical instruction and the sacramental life of the Catholic Church.

In helping parents to realize that they are the primary religious educators of their children, we seek to assist them in cultivating in their children an understanding of what it means to live a Christ-centered life in today's world.

SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS

Parents please note that if your child is not registered in a Catholic School this fall, he/she will need to be registered in our Sunday School Program (CCD). For more information and to register, please call John Fatula at 412-331-8573.

Our Sunday School program for St. John of God will begin on Sunday, Sept. 12, in the Mother of Sorrows building. Classes begin at 9:00 AM and all students will attend the 9:30 AM Mass. After Mass the children will return to their classrooms for a snack and the parents are encouraged to come meet the teachers. The children will be free to go home after this. Please call John Fatula at 412-331-8573 to register or for any further information.

HOW DOES A PERSON BECOME A CATHOLIC?
The R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) program sees to the needs of adults who wish to become Catholic. Please contact John Fatula at 412-331-8573 for questions and more information if you are interested.

There will be a planning meeting for the R.C.I.A. on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 6:30 PM in Mother of Sorrows Chapel. If anyone is interested in helping with the R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) contact John Fatula at 412-331-8573 or just come to the meeting.
